The Basics
The Live Baccarat game is usually played with either six or eight decks of 52 cards. Every card in the deck is assigned a value like –
- Tens and face cards (Kings, Queens and Jacks) are assigned a value of zero.
- Aces are counted as one.
- The other cards have the same value as their face value.
The object of the Game
The aim of the game is to get to a hand value close to nine. Players getting a point total of 8 or 9 on the first two cards is the natural winner.
Live Baccarat Gameplay
Live Baccarat games involve the player choosing the live dealer Baccarat casino and signing up on it. Then the players choose the variation which they would like to play and make a deposit to their accounts.
In the Live Baccarat game, two hands of two cards are dealt one each to the player and the banker. You can bet of three possible outcomes namely the banker win, the player win or a tie by clicking on a chip and then on where you would like it placed. The betting amount can be increased by clicking again on the betting areas. You can choose a side bet and confirm your bets. Once the bets are placed and confirmed the outcome will be decided where the hand closest to a total of nine wins.
The best hand is a two-card total of nine followed by a two card total of eight. Any count equal to a double-digit will require you to drop the left digit; I.e. 25 is counted as 5. Every hand can have no more than three cards. Under any circumstances, no fourth card can be dealt.
Every hand is made up of a minimum of 2 and a maximum of 3 cards. The individual dealing the cards will put 2 cards, face down, hidden under the shoe, and provide the Player with the biggest wager on Player the other 2 cards, face down. The Player views the cards and then returns them to the Dealer or Player dealing the card. Then the Dealer will turn the cards of both hands while the casino Dealer announces the outcome and the winner.
If one hand has a sum of 8 or 9 (9 is the highest), then no more cards will be dealt – this is natural. If it isn’t a natural, depending on the sum of each hand, the casino dealer may request the card Dealer to continue dealing (a 3rd time).
Rules for drawing the third card
There are also rules regarding the third card in Live Baccarat. The player’s cards are always played first. If their total score is 0 – 5 then a third card can be drawn, or the player can stand. If he stands and the banker gets 5 or less, he has a hit. Banker rules are slightly more complex as they are governed by what the player has.

Tips for Winning at Online Baccarat
- Do not bet on the tie bet as the odds are around 14% despite having a higher payout.
- Choose the Banker while playing as it has the lowest house-edge at 1.06%.
- Confirm if the banker bet carries a commission fee 5% or not.
- Choose to play at the live Baccarat tables which use a fewer number of decks.
- Be fully aware of how any side bets you wish to place in the Live Baccarat game affect the odds of the game.
- Play for shorter sessions as Baccarat does not reward players who stay for long as in Blackjack.
Baccarat Strategy
Follow these simple strategies to have a winning streak playing Baccarat.- Do not look for patterns and consider each hand as a separate event.
- Check out the competition by looking for tables offering lower commissions for banker wins.
- Look for tables that have lesser than 8 decks as tables with fewer decks are advantageous for skilled players. The house edge is proportional to the number of decks placed in the shoe.
- Players can practice playing the Baccarat game online before playing for real money.
- Finally, do not start betting without knowing the rules well.
